On October 30, the fall soup dinner and fall basket auction took place. There was a large assortment of themed baskets generously donated by the congregation, and bidding had started on them a few weeks earlier. Everyone enjoyed themselves while having dinner, buying baked goods and having their costumes judged – congratulations to Vic Marshall who won best costume. Many thanks to Ferne Kerr-Arnold who organized the event.

A good time was had by all On Friday, August 28 at the annual picnic held right on our own church grounds. We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows, and ate delicious sides brought by all who attended. Entertainment was provided by Tom Pepper, Nena Obits on ukulele and Wendy Harbaugh. A rousing water balloon fight contest was enjoyed by young and old(er)! Many thanks to all who helped make this a memorable event: Elissa Alden who organized the event, Vic Marshall, Doug Green, Nena Obits, Lynn McLean, Paul Jenkins and others.

Thirteen members of our UUCEL congregation attended the Lansing Lugnuts Family Faith Night game on August 22. Leaders of local churches were acknowledged on the field and given a special dinner to thank them for their service to their congregation. The game was ultimately called for rain after the 6th inning but all who attended had a great time.
