When the Social Justice Committee asked (now Jackson Mayor) Dan Mahoney how we could help combat racism in Jackson, he said that white people needed to address that issue among themselves. In response we created a six-session series called Owning White Privilege that we want to share with you before taking it to the community. At the January 30th church service we’ll present a summary including the history of whiteness, diversity/equity/inclusion, and responding to racism personally, in government, and in organizations. We look forward to hearing your thoughts.
