October is National Book Month! Come with your favorite book to tell us about it, and bring a book for our donations. We’ll be donating books to local agencies from the list of agencies our church supports. Children’s books are especially welcome.

Rev. Cindy will talk about the religious value of creating a space of welcome. How do we welcome the stranger? How do we welcome people different than “us”? How do we welcome children and people of all generations?
Bring water from your home or a special place as we celebrate the beginning of our year with this ingathering service where we name the generations of our history, bless the backpacks of our school-goers, and talk about water and justice.
Many religions teach us about the balance between order and chaos. Rev. Cindy will talk about how we balance these in our lives and the world through the examples of Muppets. This service was originally scheduled for 8/13/17, and has been rescheduled for this date.
Rev. Cindy addresses hate in our community and the country with the message that “love wins.”
Join us at 4 p.m. in Blackman Park for the second annual “Love Is Love Is Love” service, an interfaith celebration of our diverse community. This year’s theme is “Over the Rainbow,” and the Rev. Dr. Julie Nemecek will be preaching. Picnic to follow.
